Highway 1 has developed a unique polymer for the asphalt/roading industry that performs as well as the traditional SBS polymer. It blends seamlessly into the bitumen. This means that a high shear mixer and the costly infrasturture around making PMB (Polymer Modified Bitumen) is no longer needed. 

High quality PMB can now be made on-site with small modifications to exisiting plant. This saves on storage, transport costs and delays waiting for material.

The product easily meets the torsional recovery and softening point specifications of NZTA standards with the use of a low shear mixer.
